Biography

Professor Dr. Desouky Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Halim is one of the most prominent Egyptian scientists in the field of genetic engineering and biotechnology. He serves as a research professor and is the former dean of the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Institute at the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in Borg El Arab.

Academic and Professional Biography:
Date of Birth: Born on May 17, 1969, in Dar El Salam Center, Sohag Governorate, Egypt.
Education: Earned a PhD in Genetic Engineering from **Humboldt University of Berlin**, Germany, in 1999.
Positions Held: Progressed through various research positions until he became Dean of the Genetic Engineering Research Institute at the City of Scientific Research (2011–2020).
Memberships: Member of the Committee on Scientific Miracles in the Qur’an and Sunnah.

Major Honors and Awards:
* Order of the Republic for Science and Arts: Awarded the First Class Order by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during the Science Day celebration in August 2019, in recognition of his outstanding scientific research.
* Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers: Won the award in 2004 in the field of Biological Sciences and Environment.

Scientific Contributions:
He has supervised numerous master’s and doctoral theses and established the first specialized laboratory in his research field to serve the community and support development goals.
