Biography
Dr. Mostafa ElSherbiny is a prominent Egyptian international expert in climate change, sustainability, and carbon footprinting, widely recognized for bridging climate policy with economics and international trade. In 2022, he was appointed by the European Commission as European Climate Pact Ambassador in Egypt, where he supports climate dialogue, awareness, and capacity building.
He serves as Chair of the Scientific Chair for Carbon Footprint and Sustainability at ALECSO and is the President of the Institute of Sustainability and Carbon Footprint (ISCF), leading efforts to develop carbon measurement, reporting, and disclosure frameworks.
Dr. ElSherbiny is a member of international working groups at the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and an accredited observer to the Paris Climate Agreement. He has authored seven specialized books on carbon footprinting, carbon markets, blue carbon, and the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). He is also an active contributor to UN Climate Conferences (COP), organizing and participating in high-level sessions on innovation, green buildings, and low-carbon economies.
